“The 4 Principles of Scripture”

Reference Scripture:

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” (‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

1. Teaching – teaching Timothy’s primary task in Ephesus.

Reference Scriptures – (1 Tim 4:6, 13).

A. “If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.” (1 Timothy‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

B. “Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.” (1 Timothy‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

2. Reproof – To rebuke false teachers.

3. Correction – correction To bring false teachers and those influenced by them back to a knowledge of the truth.

4. Training in righteousness – Describes training in doing what is right or what is in accordance with godliness.

DJ Wade- O discussed this on periscope as he was going over (2 Timothy 3:10-17). I definitely thought it was very important so I wanted to share some of my notes. You can catch the whole scope in its entirety at the link provided below. (Christian Persecution and Perseverance #AudienceOfOne)
