“The 4 Principles of Scripture”
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16 ESV)
1. Teaching – teaching Timothy’s primary task in Ephesus.
Reference Scriptures – (1 Tim 4:6, 13).
A. “If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.” (1 Timothy 4:6 ESV)
B. “Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.” (1 Timothy 4:13 ESV)
2. Reproof – To rebuke false teachers.
3. Correction – correction To bring false teachers and those influenced by them back to a knowledge of the truth.
4. Training in righteousness – Describes training in doing what is right or what is in accordance with godliness.
