A couple of weeks ago, I had a conversation with a man at work. We talked about God and reading the Bible. He told me he reads the Watch Tower magazine. I said that was false teaching, and asked was he a Jehovah’s Witness. He replied yes and we began to discuss certain scriptures pertaining to Jesus being God. Through this initial conversation God has opened a door for me to witness to him again. In preparing for our next conversation, I began studying what the Bible says about Jesus and I am amazed how much it reveals about our Lord and Savior.
I titled this devotion “Back to Love” because I feel like I have fell back in love with God through having a better understanding of Jesus. My Bible study time now has more purpose and urgency. I am reading to understand and know God, instead of just reading as part of a daily “ritual” or just going through the motions of saying I read my Bible everyday. Thank you God for opening a door to witness about who You really are, Jesus is God. Also thank You Lord for restoring my first love; my love in You.
Read: (Revelations 2:1-7)
Through my studying, I have learned something very important. We must know and see Jesus for whom He really is, that He is God. This correct view of Him is what is going to save us and allow us to spend eternity in Heaven. For remember that the people that crucified Jesus didn’t believe He was God. So if we or anyone else doesn’t have that correct view of Him, they are not really following God; they are deceived.
Through this open door to share the Good news, I am renewed in learning about God and sharing my faith. The Bible is filled with so many references of why God is real and how we can know for certain. I pray anyone who reads this devotion will take the time to open their Bible and really search for who Jesus is and how amazing He is. Hebrews is a great chapter in the Bible on telling about who Jesus is. It tells us that Jesus is God, that He is better than the angels, He is our High Priest and He came down from Heaven to become a man and die for our sins so we could be made right with God. Thank you Jesus. I love you.
Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. (Hebrews 2:17-18 NKJV)
If you are interested in knowing more about Jesus, I will post my notes I am gathering for my conversation with my coworker. Please keep me and others in prayer as we obey Jesus’ words to preach the good news and make disciples.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)
