Spiritual Food for Thought: “Blessing”

When God puts a blessing on us, He has a way of positioning us where He wants us to be. We don’t always have to be in the best situation or circumstances for Him to use us. When Christ is in us, His glory can’t be denied.

*Read the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis.

In Genesis 39, after Joseph (son of Jacob) has been sold to Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of the Pharaoh’s court; even he recognizes God’s hand over Joseph. Potiphar saw that even in Joseph’s enslavement, God made him prosperous:

“And it came to pass from the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.” (Verse 5)

Even when Joseph was cast into prison after being falsely accused by the wife of Potiphar, God was with him. The keeper of the prison also saw God’s favor over Joseph.

“The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand: because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.” (Verse 23).

Joseph was not enslaved by his circumstances!

No matter your position in life-rich, poor, old, young, homeless, incarcerated, etc.-wherever the BLESSING is, BLESSINGS are going to flow! If you are enslaved by your circumstances, that is your choice. It is not your destiny!
