Daily Bread – Controlling your tongue

What you say and what you don’t say are both important! To use proper speech you must not only say the right words at the right time but also control your desire to say what you shouldn’t.

Examples of a untamed tongue including gossiping, putting down others, bragging, manipulating, false teaching, complaining, flattering, and lying are just a few.

Before you speak ask, “If what I want to say true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Will it please God?” – Study Bible notes

“Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.” James 3:2 NLT
