Once we try to rationalize our sins we lose. Once we try to downplay our sins we lose. Once we try to justify our sins to others by saying, “ye without sin cast the first stone,” and go and do what we already know is sinful, we lose.
As we minimize our sinful ways, we naturally shy away from making changes, so we keep on sinning. We have to look at sin in our life’s as a serious offense against God, and then we’ll begin to see what living for God really is.
Is there any sin in your life you’ve written off as too small to worry about? Is there any sin in your life that you’ve minimized, rationalized and made excuses like, “I’m not perfect?”
1 John 1:8-9 states, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
