“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1 New English Translation)
The entire Hebrews chapter 11 talks about faith. This chapter reads like a hall of fame list of believers. Faith to me is tricky because some times I can have faith in God over big things like healing from sickness and death. Other times my faith wavers about small things like how am I gonna tell my boss I need time off for a personal matter or telling a lie to get out of a tough situation.
Regardless if the matter is big or small, one thing I have learned about faith is that it will and must be tested to grow. Pastor Charles Stanley has a saying that helps me when my faith is being tested, “obey God and leave all the consequences up to Him”. This reminds me that obeying God is always the right choice. Each time I choose God over myself my faith grows. The verse below about Noah amazes me because it shows God’s loves for us when we believe and obey Him.
“Because Noah had faith, he was warned about something that had not yet happened. He obeyed and built a boat that saved him and his family. In this way the people of the world were judged, and Noah was given the blessings that come to everyone who pleases God.” (HEBREWS 11:7 CEV)
God is willing to bless us for believing in Him, something we are supposed to do anyway. This shows His goodness because He is a loving God. Faith is about trusting in the Lord and following Jesus. It is not about being perfect but in having a relationship with GOD.
Even since the days of Noah, God has always honored and been pleased with those that have faith in Him. Have faith and He will be pleased with you!
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 NIV)
