JDun, head man at Rapture Ready Productions, has released his third single of the year titled “Listen To This”. JDun continues to prove he is one of the most underrated emcees in Christian Hip Hop.

Baton Rouge, LA – In hip hop, it doesn’t take much to find someone boasting in their lyrical ability. In JDun’s case however, he uses every lyric he spits to boast on and in the Lord. On his new song “Listen To This”, Rapture Ready Productions’ own JDun delivers a very in your face, boastful approach to uplift the Lord and show he is true to his purpose!

The feel of the production is high energy with a west coast vibe. JDun’s cadence stays with a very southern flow while also adding some catchy punchlines. The subject matter stays on a course that any listener can vibe with.

This is the third of a fantastic lineup of singles JDun has dropped in 2020. Each song that he drops seems to add more intensity, truth, and emotion allowing us to see the full picture of JDun the artist. He explains it this way:

“This song isn’t about being super deep or trying to make or break your theology. This song, for me, is a declaration of where my focus is and what my purpose is in music. To glorify God and give people some dope music to jam to. This one is all about boasting in the Lord, letting your past go, and pressing towards your true purpose in the Lord.”

About JDun

I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Growing up in the city, I was your average kid.  In the late 80’s, rap was blowing up and it was everywhere in the culture. Of course I started rapping! At age 17, however, my life changed forever!

I was working on a solo album. The solo album was coming to completion and the local release date was October 31,  2003 (Halloween). I had made about 50 copies that I was going to distribute locally and to radio stations. Afterwards, I was going to meet with a friend of mine who had a connection to a record label in town who may have given me a record deal.  It was the night before my release, I was sitting in my bedroom getting my finished CDs packaged up to bring with me to school the next day. All of a sudden, I heard the voice of the Lord. He said, “I have called you to be a Christian rapper.” I felt like time had stopped and I was frozen in the words He spoke to me.  From the training I received in my church, I knew that when God speaks, you listen and accept what He says! I accepted the call and His will for my life.

I made a vow to the Lord that I no longer would use my talents to gain fame or riches.  Instead, I vowed that I would use my talents to go out and reach the lost by preaching His word in simplicity through the written lyrics He would give to me.  My purpose is to be a light of Christ in a dark world, using my music to deliver and comfort people with the message of Jesus Christ!
