What’s behind the song:

At one point in time, I had friends who were in a dark place in there lives; but I realized the light over powers darkness.  So I was the one that had to let my light shine to bring them closer to God. My favorite scripture is (Matthew 5:13-16). It talks about being salt and being the ones that preserve the world.

““You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16

Short Bio:

My name is DeMarion Smith aka LIL DEX NO FLEX TAK3 OR DEX I’m an 18 year old Christian rapper, I first started rapping at the age of 17 releasing my first track “I’m not gone” enticed by the by the, “So Gone Challenge.”

I grew up with my dad and he did Christian rap under the stage name H2O, that was when I was first exposed to Christian rap. Before I committed fully to God, I was a regular teen drinking, partying, lying , and chasing money. But when I truly found my relationship with Jesus, I realized I was lost. He found me and cleaned me up and made me more like him!

To finish off my purpose for Christian rap is to influence mainly the youth to leave the lifestyle that these so called artist have exposed to them and show them that God can give you identity and a greater purpose for the Kingdom of God. Lastly I want to save souls!
