There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise. (Proverbs 31:29-31 NLT)

Before I start this review let me give you the backdrop. When my man Josh Niemyjski hit me up with this album review I didn’t know what to expect. Having a street background in my old days, I identify with the hard Christian music more that describes who they were in the streets and how God changed them. Artist like Bizzle & Thi’sl come to mind right off the bat to name a couple but there are so many more male Christian artist that I like. I can’t help who I like but when I put this EP in entitled Murkp31 in the earbuds, I was pleasantly SHOCKED!

To hear hard subjects from a female artist in a female perspective was amazing and Murk has some rap skills! I can’t wait to see her growth and how God may use her to get His message out there.

I can’t lie after listening to the album a few times it opened up my eyes to some things that I had did to women that I hadn’t address with God in all my prayers for growth, strength and forgiveness of my sins!

From the first song “So Beautiful” she address low self esteem issues and hiding behind a mask of who you are not and who God wants you to be.

What was really important in this song was how Murk pointed out that you don’t need a man to make you feel special or beautiful. She said loud and clear that, “Baby girl you’re a queen and you’re so beautiful, and it’s a shame that you don’t even know”, as she laid down the hook on this song.

She said, “God gave you inner beauty”, and I was like “whoa”! I thought about my two daughters and especially my 6 year old daughter.

One time at school a little girl called her ugly and she was really bothered and began crying. Well that bothered me and my wife so much. My wife began to tell my daughter that she is beautiful and God loved her for who she was, and then she made my daughter repeat that over and over again. My daughter started smiling and I thought that was an excellent way to help build my daughters’ character and it’s something both of us do regularly now.

After listening to the song “So Beautiful” I immediately thought of all the women who might not have someone they loved to instill the Word of God in them or core values of self beauty. Or a young woman who was torn down from a bad relationship and never bounced back from it and lost her sense of inner beauty in the process. Well Murk definitely gave any women who don’t know who God wants them to be the real on “So Beautiful” and not only on this song, but on the whole EP!

She shows women who God wants them to be and she is not bashing men to get God’s point across either. On “True Story” she went in!

From coming up in a horrible home with a bad mother to abortion and stripping to finding CHRIST! I know so many women that have been through that. “True Story” was well done!

I think all young ladies, women and the fellas need to hear this album! From self esteem issues to physical abuse Murk covers it all and this EP “Murk P31” is a HEAT SEEKER and it’s definitely BookKeeper approved!
