“My soul is among lions;
I lie among the sons of men
Who are set on fire,
Whose teeth are spears and arrows,
And their tongue a sharp sword.” Psalm 57:4-5 NKJV
Many of us face hard times. But few have actually faced the trials of someone actually trying to kill you. This Psalm from David is from when Saul was trying to kill him. David prayed for safety and protection from his physical enemies. Today we can pray this Psalm over our physical and scriptural enemies.
“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 57:5 NKJV
In verse 5 David offers up praise to God. How amazing that while praying for safety and protection, while enduring hardship through this trial David offered up praises to God.
Lesson: No matter what type of trial we face, even unto death, give God praise. It takes wisdom to pray. Knowledge in knowing you need God’s help to solve a problem. Prayer is an action, it is powerful. Believe in God to answer your prayers. Giving God praise through your trials takes courage, knowing that as bad as things are God is sovereign, in control and a good Father. He will provide and He like His timing is perfect.
Prayer: Lord help us through our trials. We praise You because You are worthy and Holy. Thank You for all You provide. Amen.
